Healing begins with understanding.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or unsure where to begin, therapy offers a space to slow down and reconnect with yourself. At Miel Therapy, I offer a grounded, collaborative approach shaped by both professional training and lived experience. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and supported. Together, we will explore what’s been weighing on you and begin to shape a path that feels clearer, steadier, and more aligned with who you are.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) & Founder
For many, beginning therapy means stepping into unfamiliar terrain, not just in how the process works but in choosing who to begin it with. The right therapist offers more than credentials. They offer a sense of safety, resonance, and genuine connection.
Before I became a therapist, I spent over a decade working in a professional career outside of mental health. I understand what it’s like to navigate high expectations, demanding environments, and the quiet self-doubt that can follow even outward success. I also know how easy it is to question whether therapy is really meant for someone like you. I didn’t grow up in a place where people talked openly about their feelings, or where it felt acceptable to need support. But when life became overwhelming, I decided to give therapy a try. That choice changed everything. It reshaped how I see myself, how I relate to others, and how I understand the process of healing.
My own experience as a therapy client continues to shape the way I practice. I remember what it’s like to feel hesitant, uncertain, or unsure if the process will actually help. That awareness is always present in the room. My work is grounded, collaborative, and centred on meeting you where you are, not where you think you should be. I have a particular interest in helping people untangle complicated relationship and family dynamics, supported by a strong foundation in family systems theory.
My approach is collaborative, conversational, and integrative. I draw primarily from Internal Family Systems and Adlerian therapy, and I also incorporate a wide range of other modalities to suit each client’s needs. I place value on clarity and intention. We begin with an in-depth intake process to get an overview of your story and goals. From there, we tailor the process to meet you where you are. At the centre of all of this is attunement: the ability to sense what you need in the moment and to respond with care and precision. People need different things at different times, and my role is to support you with both flexibility and focus.
I also see therapy as a place of learning. I integrate psycho-education into sessions to help demystify what is happening in your mind and body. The more clearly you understand yourself, the more freedom and clarity you have in how you live.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, practicing under the supervision of Liza Finlay. I offer sessions virtually across Ontario and in person on the Danforth in Toronto. Insurance receipts are available, and I reserve a limited number of reduced-rate spots.
If something here resonates with you, I invite you to connect for a free consultation. Finding the right fit matters, and I would be glad to explore if working together feels right for you

Goodest Boy & Future Therapy Dog
Sur is our resident black Labrador Retriever and unofficial greeter. Equal parts sweet and goofy, he takes his job of boosting morale very seriously, especially when it involves swimming, chasing sticks, or accepting treats. You might spot him around the office or online from time to time. He’s currently in training to become a therapy dog, and in the meantime, he’s practicing the art of being a very good boy.
My approach to therapy
I bring the insight of a therapist and the perspective of someone who’s been in the client seat. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and attuned to what you need. I draw from Internal Family Systems, Adlerian theory, and a range of other modalities to meet you where you are. I integrate psycho-education throughout, helping you better understand your mind, body, and patterns so you can move forward with more clarity, intention, and self-trust.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your specific needs, including Internal Family Systems, Adlerian therapy, and complementary modalities from psychodynamic, somatic, and relational traditions. I also incorporate practical, skills-based tools when they feel useful and relevant. No single method works for everyone, so our work will be flexible and responsive, grounded in both clinical training and lived insight.

At the core of my work is a deep respect for your autonomy, lived experience, and inner wisdom. I don’t follow a script or assume an expert role. Instead, I meet you with curiosity, care, and collaboration. Together, we’ll shape the process around your goals and pace, creating space for clarity, connection, and meaningful change.

Psychoeducation is an important part of how I work. I share practical knowledge to help you understand what’s happening in your mind and body, whether we’re exploring emotions, nervous system responses, or relationship patterns. This insight can make the therapeutic process feel less mysterious and more empowering, giving you greater clarity, choice, and compassion as you navigate change.
